Ju Jutsu
Zanshin Style

P.U.M.A. Zanshin Ju Jutsu is taught by Sensei Danny Damarell.

Ju Jutsu's history can be traced back 2000 years, it is a direct decendant of older Japanese arts such as "Yawara". Ju Jutsu is an ancient Japanese art of self-defence, first used by the samurai warriors in combat.

Ju Jutsu is based on the Japanese concept of "Ju" which means flexibility or compliance and "Jutsu" which is the Japanese word for art. Therefore Ju Jutsu means "flexible art".

Ju Jutsu is a grappling art that incorporates throws, locks and ground holds as well as utilizing punches and kicking techniques. Because Ju Jutsu uses your opponent's strength against themselves, it can be practised by students of any age and size.

Students that train in the art are called "Jitsuka" and training takes place in a "Dojo" (training hall). The teacher is called "Sensei" and is normally aided by a "Sempai" (senior student).

All students train in traditional dress, which is a white training "Gi" (suit).
